MTV Total Request Live
Total Request Live (known commonly as TRL) is a tv series on MTV that featured popular music videos. The show featured guests and was a promotion tool used by musicians, actors, and other celebrities to promote their newest works to the show's target teen demographic.
Money does not have an absolute value, but one that is completely dependent on status, class, attitude and condition at one given time.
You are drawn to this shiny coin, through its holes you can see what you are purchasing while on the other side you become aware of your reflected image: a reminder of the value you attribute.
The Royal Mint supported me whilst at the Royal College of Art London to produce these bespoke £5 coins.
The graphic motif of the logo was used to create a colourful pattern for the illuminated floor as well as some pendants. The set was complemented by a range of seating areas constructed through a mix of both see through colourful perspex and reflective surfaces.
By spring 2000, the countdown reached its peak, becoming a very recognizable pop culture icon in its first two years of existence. The show received a new set and on-screen graphics for the debut of the fall 2001 season. A year later, on October 23, 2002, TRL celebrated its 1,000th episode. The number-one video on that day was "Dirrty" by Christina Aguilera.
