Upon gazing at diamonds one almost forgets to be getting an eyeful of simple stones, instinctively blinded by what these most desirable stones symbolically stand for. Diamonds excessive value is caused by their controlled market. 'Sugar diamonds' are a metaphor of the value of diamonds. With them I replaced the diamond's stable and enduring form with the mutable and consumable one of sugar. A diamond of sugar which melts down and dilutes in a hot drink. A diamond to chew like candy. They encompass the whole process of consuming, breaking down and ejection as waste.
